Praise the Lord....what a relief !!!

What a relief !!!
Dr. Allen called this Tuesday with the great news we had been longing for.
The results from Sean's amnio test ended up all NORMAL.
Praise the Lord.
And, Sean, I know you are the best.

You are getting a new name, my son!

My dear son:
You probably will be given a new name. It is because your grandpa said there could be a better name. In his generation, people believe a good name leads to a good life and vise versa. It may sound spooky to you but to wish you the best, I want to give you whatever I can offer.
I will let you know what your new name is soon.

Love
Daddy

Sean 17 weeks

Sean, daddy loves you.
In my home country, what you were doing is called "eating a chicken drumstick" !

A hellish week

Sean's 17 weeks ultrasound last Thursday showed two soft markers linked to some chromosome abnormalities. One of them is called "choroid plexus cyct" which gives an increased risk of Edward's syndrome. As a scientist myself, I know how serious and deadly Trisomy 18 can be. The other unusual sign detected from the ultrasound is "calcium deposits" on Sean's liver. After a little research, I found this hepatic calcification could turn out to be nothing at all but it is still a sign suggesting possibilities of fetal infection and/or genetic disorder.
As a scientist, I know the odds strongly favor us. However, to a father, the situation is overwhelmingly cruel and unbearable. Indeed, I have never been this vulnerable in my whole life, but I know I have to be strong and even stronger than ever because of Sean and my lovely wife; they all rely on me.
Now I've got all my fingers and even toes crossed. I pray again and again for God's mercy on them.
